The oldest health care systems

Origin of Acupuncture

The origins of acupuncture can be traced back at least 2,000 years, making it one of the oldest health care systems in the world. Today, acupuncture is an effective, natural and increasingly popular form of health care that is being used by people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.Acupuncture takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease processes and focuses as much on the prevention of illness as on the treatment.

How Acupuncture works?

Balance of yin and yang

Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of yin and yang of the life force known as gi or chi. Qi is said to flow through meridians (pathways) in the human body.
If needles are inserted into these points with appropriate combinations it is said that the energy flow can be brought back into proper balance. Acupunture thurth the stimulation increases blood flow while at the same time triggering the activity of our own body’s natural painkillers.
